Through talk therapy, you can begin to gently untangle and make sense of difficult emotions, creating room for clarity and healing. If you're curious about yourself and seeking a fuller, more grounded experience of life, counselling can be a meaningful step forward.

Working with a trained counsellor provides you with compassionate support and guidance as you navigate your concerns. It can empower you to feel more at home within yourself, strengthen your relationships, and take intentional steps toward the life you want. A more peaceful, authentic way of being is not only possible—it’s within reach.

FAQ'S

1. Are all therapy sessions confidential and private?

Yes, everything you share is private and confidential.

2. What is the difference between a psychologist and a psychiatrist?

Psychiatrists are medical doctors who specialize in mental health and can prescribe medications as part of their treatment approach. Their focus is often on medical and pharmacological interventions to manage mental health conditions.

In contrast, psychologists primarily provide support through talk therapy. They work with individuals to explore thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, helping them develop coping strategies and gain insight into their challenges.

3. How do I know if I need therapy? Can therapy really be helpful?

Therapy can give you support, validation, coping skills, and strategies to change your perspective and your behaviors. It can give you greater peace of mind and help you tolerate difficult feelings and situations. It can give you a “corrective emotional experience:” your therapist creates a safe, non-judgmental space for you to express yourself authentically and may “get” you in a way that no one else has. When this happens, it is extremely powerful and transformative.

Therapy cannot change other people or external circumstances. Therapists provide psychoeducation, feedback, and guidance, but they don’t give advice or answers. If you’re new to therapy, or are exploring unprocessed trauma, therapy may make you feel a bit worse before you feel better.

I can’t tell you how long it will take for you to feel better. But, generally, the more you put into therapy, the more you’ll get out of it.

4. Do you offer a sliding scale?

Yes, a sliding scale is available. Only for a limited slots per month.

5. What is the difference between a counselling psychologist and a clinical psychologist?

The difference between the two is based in tradition, with clinical psychologists historically working in more clinical settings - working with assessment, diagnosis and treatment.

Counselling psychologists work with the same diversity of issues using effective talking therapies by applying a wide range of skills to work with each individual's needs in a supportive and caring way.

6. Is there a cancellation policy?

Yes, there is a 48 hour cancellation policy.

Disclaimer:

Online counseling/therapy sessions do not deal with medical or psychological emergencies.  If you are experiencing thoughts of self harm or suicide, an in person medical intervention is the most appropriate form of help.  You can seek help at the nearest hospital where you can connect with a psychiatrist/social worker/therapist in person.
